There’s a new face at our branch and it belongs to our new Branch Leader, Laura Johnston.
Having obtained her diploma in Somatology from the Durban University of Technology over 20 years ago, Laura brings a wealth of experience to our team, as well as her well-respected work ethic. She has spent many years looking after people, as well as training other therapists in numerous lodges across South Africa. Teaching them spa etiquette and how to give phenomenal guest service. She firmly (excuse the pun!) believes that skincare is about so much more that physically providing a skin treatment, and is as passionate about sharing knowledge and helping others as she is about playing her part in creating change.

As a team, we believe wholeheartedly that you can’t pour from an empty cup, which is why we encourage a healthy work/life balance. Recently, one of our therapists, Taz, got to spend some quality time with friends listening to one of South Africa’s most ‘quality’ talents, Jeremy Loops, live in concert.
After over two years of lockdown restrictions, Taz said it was truly wonderful to be out and about in a crowd again, footloose and mask-free.

We love this ‘proud mama’ moment that our new Branch Leader, Laura, shared with us. This snap was taken just before Laura’s very dapper looking son headed off to accompany a friend to her Matric dance.
They grow up so fast. And so handsome!

Perfect for mountain biking and trail running, the Holla trails traverse 42 working farms just outside Ballito giving fitness fans and active families 340 km of marked trails to explore.
Suitable for both the very experienced and the novice newbie, these trails are as much a treat for the cardio-lover as they are for those who view spectacular scenery as tonic for the soul.

One of our resident doctors at Skin Renewal Ballito, Dr Merle Williams, has a special interest in aesthetic and integrative medicine, and prides herself on putting in the extra effort when it comes to client care.
Dr Merle completed her level one aesthetic trading with the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM) and the Integrative Medicine Bootcamp with The Golding Institute before relocating to her hometown of Durban.
A master at transferring her artistic talent from paper to person, Dr Merle joined Skin Renewal in 2017 and underwent an intensive three month in house training program, which included the opportunity to shadow Dr Maureen Allem, and many Skin Renewal doctors. To stay at the top of her game, she regularly attends non-surgical, anti-ageing congresses and workshops and is a member of AAMSA (The Aesthetic & Anti-Ageing Medicine Society of South Africa).

Every year 10,000 girls miss school due to them not having proper sanitary wear.
Komani produces high quality reusable, washable sanitary pads which are both sustainable and environmentally friendly. We aim to donate 1000 packs of reusable sanitary packs to each of the charities we support. For every 100 packs we receive, we will spend time with the beneficiaries educating the recipients on personal hygiene and how to use and maintain their sanitary pack. The cost of a pack is just R150 and the pads can last up to three years; requiring only 6 litres of water to wash the pads for the duration of a menstrual cycle.
