Hello Jody!
On 19 April we welcomed Therapist, Jody Engelbrecht, to our dream team. Having worked in various luxurious spas across the Western Cape after completing her diploma in somatology, once she got a taste for the aesthetics side of the industry, she discovered a passion for the deeper approach required to treat specific skin conditions.
Experiencing first-hand, what medical aesthetics can achieve, she has been enthusiastic and inspired ever since and absolutely loves working with people – finding her patients and colleagues to have as much of an invigorating effect on her as her beloved Table Mountain and ocean air.

Welcome, Dr Riaan!
A man as passionate about medicine as sport, Dr Riaan Van Tonder brings a wealth of both life and medical experience to the Skin Renewal family and we’re delighted to have him share his wisdom and expertise with our Claremont branch patients and therapists. A highly decorated academic, Dr Riaan originally graduated from medicine in Stellenbosch before furthering his studies at the Edinburgh Business School where he achieved his MBA. So you know that when it comes to aesthetics, he means business.
Dr Riaan has a reputation as a superb medical aesthetic doctor having gained over 15 years of aesthetic experience with a plastic surgeon at Panorama clinic before enjoying extensive training under the esteemed Dr Maureen Allem, Skin Renewal Founder and Medical Director, which he describes as “a lifelong dream” of his.
Dr Riaan will be based at our Claremont, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Willowbridge branches, and he looks forward to creating a skincare journey for you

On the 7th of May, our lovely Nurse, Wilna, celebrated her birthday with us with some spoils, some treats and, of course, some festive singing of “Happy Birthday to you!”

Our Branch leader, Lee-zay, celebrated her son, Brady’s first birthday on Youth Day the 16th June with a party that was ‘buzzing’ with fun, laughter and cake-fueled shenanigans perfect for a one-year old.
Who says you can't wear your slippers to work?
Lockdown may be over but that doesn’t mean we still don’t jump at an opportunity to wear our comfiest, cosiest footwear to work – especially when it’s for a good cause. Our team recently supported the Reach for a Dream foundation and all the incredible work this organisation does by making their donations and donning their slippers on Slipper Day.
Winter is upon us, and the bitter cold can be felt. It is always a reminder of the fact that the warmth of lovely coats and faux fur blankets cannot be taken for granted.
All 18 Skin Renewal branches nationally will be collecting winter warmer items. Beanies, coats, blankets and even hot water bottles will be donated to the beneficiaries from each of our projects in the three regions in which we operate.
We will ensure that the Streetscapes beneficiaries in Cape Town will receive any donations generously given by you, our followers and patients.
Together we can continue to make positive and sustainable changes and improve the lives of our beneficiaries.
