Oh hello there! We might not have seen you for a while and thought we would pop in for a catch up! We have lots of exciting news to share, so let’s jump right in.
In December, we had our first virtual awards ceremony, and it was the highlight of our year! One of our favourite therapists, Beverley Blake celebrated a decade with us and received her 10-Year Award.
Our much-appreciated Nospo Mpondo was named Housekeeper of the Year for the Gauteng region. Nospo is such a dedicated worker, and a big part of our team - we couldn’t do what we do without her!
Driver, Nqaza Ngobese nabbed the title of Employee of the Year – you can see the smile through his mask!
Nobody’s blowing on the cake this year (can you believe we used to do this?!) but we’re still excited about birthdays. Dr Nadira Bhamjee enjoyed another year around the sun in January, while Kelly Boonzaaier and Rachel Mutate both celebrated in March.
We’ve really enjoy working with one of our favourite influencers, Mrs South Africa finalist Gretha Garnett. This blonde beauty is celebrating turning the big four-oh this month – but you’d never guess it thanks to Dr Maureen Allem and Kelly’s magic hands!
A quick look into Gretha Garnett - Mrs. Africa 2021 Finalist treatment with Dr Maureen
It was also awesome to see the dynamo that is Joani Johnson. She heads up the Mrs. South Africa pageant and is currently super busy prepping for the big event to be held on 18 March, but still made time to pop in and get her pre-crowning glam on with Dr Maureen.
We’re proud to say we’re still partnering with Khulisa, a local non-profit organisation that empowers vulnerable children, youth and communities. They’re always in need of household and personal items including clothes and linen and we’re glad to say our clients have been amazing in supporting the cause.
We are currently collecting Douw Egberts Coffee Bottles for a sustainable candle-making project the Kliptown Community has undertaken. Please drop these off at any of our Gauteng branches. These candles are made by the Kliptown gogos and provide these industrious women with a stipend.
If you would like to learn more about Skin Renewals CSI initiatives please follow the dedicated Facebook page (RenewedhopeZA) or chat to branch manager, Kim, on your next visit.
Another way we are making a difference over at the Parkhurst branch is by committing to using our own reusable coffee mugs instead of disposable paper cups. Skin Renewal is on a journey to be sustainable and encouraged each branch to commit to a green goal for 2021.. do you have a green goal?
Speaking of green goals, here is a shout out to our awesome suppliers who’ve swapped out their plastic bags in favour of more recyclable materials.
Ready to shine a light on a current star product? Therapist Kelly Boonzaaier’s favourite is SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Serum AKA “the little green ambulance”. This SkinCeuticals’ super soother is the ultimate fix for irritated or sensitive skin.
“It always comes to the rescue for those nasty, red, inflamed acne breakouts; rosacea or any irritated or sensitive skin,” she says. “It contains cucumber extract and hyaluronic acid, which helps calm and hydrate the skin. I use it in my daily routine to keep redness in check and I love it!” - Kelly Boonzaaier
As far as outstanding treatments go, Therapist Beverley Blake is all about Laser Genesis. “It’s a great add on to any treatment, be it a peel, needling or carboxytherapy. It enhances the results and is completely safe for all skin types with no down time,” she says. “The many benefits include that it’s ant-ageing; reduces acne and rosacea, and targets pigmentation. It really does help create a radiant complexion, so don’t forget to combine Laser Genesis with your next treatment.”
At Skin Renewal Parkhurst, we are passionate about great results, so we’re super excited to show you this incredible ‘before and after’ of one of our clients who’s been treating her pigmentation and melasma with us this past year.
Her treatment plan includes a combination of medium to deep peels, Laser Genesis, PDT Light and transdermal mesotherapy. This is supported with homecare products from NeoStrata, Heliocare, and Lamelle. She’s also taking Renewal Institute as well as Medford supplements
She is 11 treatments in and just look at the difference!
Last but not least, this month saw us say goodbye to our groundskeeper, Onias Ramokopeloa He has been a long-term team member of Parkhurst and with Skin Renewal for 15 years. We wish him well in his new venture and hope he still pops in to pay us a visit from time to time.
We would love to see you again! Please pop in, even if it is just to assist us with our Coffee-to-Candle project, or to drop off any pre-loved item for our Kliptown community.
Here is to a fabulous 2021!
The Parkhurst team
