As always, the sunniest of hellos from our Umhlanga branch!
What a start to 2023; we’re buzzing with exciting changes - from babies to new therapists, some amazing doctors and very special times spent together. So, as the first quarter ends (crazy fast), we thought we’d pause and share our very latest news with you.
Here’s what’s been happening...
We started off our year with branch leader Anja Evans going on maternity leave and welcoming her special little boy, Jake on 1 February. She and hubby, Justin, are thrilled to be parents to their first child. We are mad about babies too, so his birth was a wonderful way to start 2023!
We are also crazy about the best doctors in aesthetic medicine – it’s always about gorgeous, healthy and happy results right?
So (drum roll please), we are super pleased to welcome both Dr Sirlesh and Dr Nicolette to our team. This means not only more expertise, but more availability for ultra-skilled treatments performed by our doctors suited to your tailored needs. And meeting that customer goal is a big part of our job (and well, kinda makes us giddy inside).
While we can’t wait for you to meet our doctor duo, here’s a little background on these amazing medics:
Proudly from KwaZulu Natal, where Dr Sirlesh earned his medical degree, his insight into internal medicine, specifically dermatology, meant a natural graduation to aesthetic medicine.
With over five years of medical aesthetics already under his belt, Dr Sirlesh understands that being a medical aesthetic doctor means more than just a focus on skin and its concerns.
Currently in training, caring and gentle Dr. Nicky is on the verge of joining our family, but will be officially part of our team in May.
Wait, there’s more! And two more absolutely fabulous women to meet.
Say hello to Laura and Zanele. Laura has joined us from the Ballito branch to manage Umhlanga and it’s such a honour to have her join our energetic team.
Medical therapist Zanele, is passionate about helping patients achieve their goals and takes great pride in building strong customer service skills and relationships with her patients. She has nearly six years of experience working alongside plastic surgeons and doctors in the medical aesthetic field.

Ever stopped and raised a glass to our journey? Never mind the destination, but the actual process (and yes, while you’re in it) of doing your day to day?
Well, that’s what we did – and we loved it!
Here is to Team Umhlanga
A group of women that challenge and inspire each other. While our commitment is always to you, a lesson we’ve learnt along our journey is, find a group of people that motivate and support you, spend lots of time with them and the experience will change your life.
And so, we celebrated our team’s journey together. With a very busy few months with a few changes (and some sad good byes), “All about the journey”, seemed like the best tone to set for the rest of the year.
To help us celebrate, special guests included Mama Wanda and our leader and CEO Victor Snyders, who spoke to us about our own branch's Skin Renewal adventure. Our doctors showcased their skills with injectables and IV’s, and we had the pleasure of hosting a few local and always encouraging celebrities like Rachel Kholisi, Gugu Gumede and Carol Ofori.
A day of joy, connection and remembering our path and vision was such a happy one.
Cheers to that!
We are very excited to reintroduce the Discoloration Defense from SkinCeuticals
A layer-able, daily-use dark spot corrector that’s clinically proven to reduce the appearance of key types of skin discolouration, this concentrate can be used on all skin tones. Need to dose your hard-to-treat stubborn brown patches and post-acne marks? Formulated with 3% tranexamic acid, 1% kojic acid, 5% niacinamide, and 5% HEPES, this latest-generation formula improves the appearance of skin discolouration, brightens skin, and evens skin tone as fast as two weeks.
Our doctors take incredible pride in making a difference in our patients lives. And it’s all in pictures.
Just look at these before and after of dermal fillers performed by Dr Sirlesh.
Remember, dermal fillers can be used to reduce the signs of ageing, minimise skin depressions and scars, and address fine lines and deep wrinkles or folds in facial skin. Just a few key injectables make such a difference!
Roxy joined the Renewal Institute in January 2016. She has a true passion for skin and is very results driven when it comes to treatment and helping people feel their absolute best.
Catherine - more of a cat person to be honest - has been with the Skin Renewal family for over six years. She has extensive experience as a medical therapist and has worked in two of our aesthetic clinics in KZN. Cath is definitely “branch mom” always making sure everyone is taken care of.
We are very sad to have to say goodbye to our Cath this month, but we are extremely excited about her new venture managing the Ballito Skin Renewal branch. And as always, we’ll keep sharing the love.
Roxy's heart passion are her special babies that she absolutely loves and adores.
Cattitude reigns supreme in Catherine's heart and home!
As we look ahead to the rest of 2023, we wonder what more lies in wait? More changes? Good, positive stuff that’s for sure. We are just so excited to share it all with you.
We look forward to seeing you at our branch soon and, until then, connect with us on Instagram and Facebook to stay updated on all our product, branch and ambassador news.
And, in case you didn’t know, we have a dedicated WhatsApp number – 0871531043 – to help assist you with information, appointments and more.
With all our Love,
Laura and the Umhlanga team
