At Skin Renewal, we have many in-office solutions to help treat pigmentation and offer potent medical-grade products via our Online Skin Shop that serve up fantastic results. All their active ingredients are powerful and – more importantly – proven and in the right concentration to make a visible difference.
Here are just a few of our favourites to help you get your glow back.
Endocare C Pure Concentrate
One of the best skin-brightening ingredients on the block is still good old vitamin C. Not only does it inhibit the overproduction of melanin, but it's a brilliant antioxidant too. You'll find a powerful, highly-stabilised version of it in Endocare's C Pure Concentrate ampoules. They also contain growth factors that soften the look of fine lines and increase your skin's firmness. Last but not least, they also provide your skin with proteoglycans that hydrate and plump! What's not to love?
Lamelle Luminesce
Luminesce by Lamelle Research Laboratories is one of the most advanced skincare systems around. Not only will it help improve the look of pigmentation, but it also targets tricky-to-treat melasma, the stubborn dark marks that can appear during and after pregnancy. The range consists of a cleanser, day and night cream as well as a sunscreen. The latter, Lamelle Luminesce Brightening Defense 30, contains an SPF of 40, a very stable form of skin-brightening vitamin C, as well as a peptide proven to regulate the overproduction of melanin. This way, you get sun protection that'll prevent future dark marks while brightening up whatever pigmentation exists!
NeoRetin
NeoRetin is a small range of products featuring patented and powerful skin-brightening actives. Each of them features RetinSphere technology that combines two very effective yet well-tolerated retinoids clinically proven to stimulate epidermal renewal to create a more evenly-toned complexion. They also use Edafence, an anti-pollution system that is great because air pollution (think cigarette smoke and city smog) has been identified as one of the main driving factors for pigmentation. You'll find both NeoRetin Gelcream SPF 50 and NeoRetin Serum Booster Fluid in our online store. The former is a light-textured day cream with a very high sun protection factor, and the latter contains a high concentration of actives, making it ideal to use at night.
SkinCeuticals Advanced Pigment Corrector
Another brightener our clients love and adore? SkinCeuticals Advanced Pigment Corrector. An advanced treatment that targets stubborn pigmentation, it's formulated with 1% hydroxyphenoxy propionic acid. (Yep, we know it's a bit of a tongue-twister, so we call it HPA for short.) It's a very safe, non-toxic derivative of hydroquinone that helps to lighten up dark marks. It also contains exfoliating salicylic acid and ellagic acid. The latter is a powerful botanical-derived antioxidant that doesn't just protect you from cell-damaging free radicals; it's proven to assist with improving the look of pigmentation too. We like to recommend it as a maintenance product to our client's who've undergone in-office skin brightening procedures such as laser treatments or peels.
NeoStrata Enlighten
NeoStrata's Enlighten range is a brilliant collection of brighteners that serve up powerful skin brightening ingredients such as vitamin C and niacinamide, along with turmeric's antioxidant power and NeoGlucosamine. The latter is the brand's very own patented non-acid amino sugar that gently exfoliates to diminish the look of fine lines and slough away superficial pigmentation. The great thing about the Enlighten collection is that it's a very extensive one. You'll find everything from an Ultra Brightening Cleanser all the way through to a Brightening Eye Cream. However, if you'd like to dip your toes into the brand and get great value for money – as well as great results – we suggest you try our bundled NeoStrata Enlighten Trio Pack. It contains the cleanser, an illuminating serum and pigment-controller fluid to target stubborn pigmentation, all for just R2 360. Better yet, all the products are full size!
