A moisturiser is a moisturiser, right? Nope. As it turns out not all moisturisers are created equally and the active ingredients added to them, as well as what’s left out, can make a huge difference to your skin.
If you’re using a very basic moisturiser, its primary function is to hydrate, ideally via repairing or maintaining your skin’s barrier function (its protective layer) to trap moisture within your skin.
However, if you’re taking the time to moisturise, you might as well use a product that also contains beneficial active ingredients that will give you more bang for your buck.
This month we explain moisturisers in more detail as well as why choosing a well-formulated one is important.
